OMG! I admit I have done some of these things in the past!
Way back then, when office telephones were black and nondescript, I used electrical tape to fasten the receivers to the phones. I then sent out a conference call.... What language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm luckier than I used to be. Now that I am over 60, I do get a tiny pension from the Civil Service. It's less than I would get get if I had never worked, so gets topped up from public funds!!! I was a Senior Consultant for many years in the computing industry. My private pension was with the oldest supplier of pensions, but they went bust, so I get nothing from them. I'm NOT complaining. My tiny pension makes me able to pay for what I need. I spent several of the recent years unable to pay the basic bills. I've learned to cut my costs to a minimum. I do own my own house. It's nothing special, but it IS mine. I CAN now find about $40 a week for food and clothing, so I'm feeling good!

That is a shame that they went bust, but I'm so glad you are still able to get everything you need! And it doesn't matter if your house is a mansion or a studio apartment because it is YOUR home. I'm sure it's lovely :)
